Straight through the heart -
with Dio Disciples 25th June 2011
Matrix in Bochum
The Matrix in Bochum ... a little tubular hall. And I was all exited about what to expect that evening.
Strange feelings of joy and happiness also magic and some sadness. Outside the building were some little groups of Dio Disciples fans... waiting for the entry as well.
Doors were at about 7 pm. It all begun with THE RODS from sunny Cortland N.Y. The band of Ronnie James Dios cousin Mr. David Rock Feinstein. They started and rocked the hall with "Hurricane". They rocked the crowed and really had fun playing also their bass player sung too and has a super voice. Only a 3 headed band but they really made party and noise... good old rock n roll! They played about 45 minutes and then there was a little break for Dio Disciples to get ready for the stage.

and then.... READY for Dio Disciples... here we goooooooooooooo:
The light went down... the magic was strong and true.... I wondered if all those fans had the same things on their minds like i had. I was totally confused and somehow I waited for Ronnie to come out... rocking the stage... it was really heavy to see his band the first time without HIM. So throughout the concert I really had tears in my eyes.
So Tim started with this killer song and rocked the stage with Stand up and Shout and the people totally enjoyed it! And they sang along to the amazing tunes. All in all I think it must be a hard challenge for all of the Dio band to get on with Ronnies legacy. I think I really thought to see it from the look of their faces. And I admire them for being sooo strong and doing all this! Hats off to YOU! As I really have no words for this! You guys are truely amazing.
Well Tim sang the first three songs and then Toby (Little Angels) started to rock the stage with EGYPT (The Chains are on) .... he did it perfect. His voice really fits to this kinda songs! Also the accoustic all in all was totally amazing. It was loud and clear. It was truely ROCKING. Well but I also have to say that Toby was mixing up some verse sometime. But that surely isn`t a bad critic cause thats all human.
Toby and Tim also shared their vocals very often and there voices really fit into one another so that it is truely perfect! And once again my opinion they are the coolest and most perfect to sing those milestones of music. Also the musicans were doing a super job - Simon did a cool drum solo and James and Scott were rocking hard too!
As encore we got to hear Rainbow in the Dark and We Rock! Then the band bowed down and left the stage! Last but not least I was all exited again to meet Tim Owens. We said hi to Garry of The Rods which is a super friendly guy and asked him were the backstage room is and he showed us. Then laterz finally went backstage with my man. We sat down and waited for Tim. But first we run into Mr. Mignardi Ronnies personal assistant. We shook hands and said hi. Was great to meet him. Then Mr. Owens appeared and welcomed us. We said hi and I hugged him and I told him that it was amazing also told him that he and the guys are doing a great job keeping on ronnies legacy! Thanks Tim! I thank you from the heart. Because it was really late we left and said bye and wished them a good and safe journey.
So hail to the Dio Disciples and hail to the man on the Silver Mountain which never will be forgotten!
