Interview: LILLIAN AXE

Hello Steve, Hello Lillian Axe, I salute you and I am very happy that you are ready for this interview... so letz start...

1. Please introduce Lillian Axe to my readers first.

Steve Blaze: Hello. This is Steve Blaze from Lillian Axe. Memebers are Ronny Munroe on vocals, Eric Morris on bass, Sam Poitevent on guitar and Ken Koudelka on drums. We are releasing our 10th album on July 20th called Deep Red Shadows.

2. Whats new with Lillian Axe in the year 2010?

Steve: Lots this year. We have the new album coming out on July 20th. We also have the addition of Ronny Munroe as our lead vocalist replacing Derrick LeFevre. And to top it off, we were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. We also started our own label in partners with Megaforce called Love and War records!

3. So welcome Ronny in the band. It is very great to hear that Mr. Munroe is now the vocalist for the band. So how did it happen you chose him for this job? Can you please explain it to us.

Steve: 3. Derrick informed us in the midst of recording the new album that he was no longer able to tour to the extent that Lillian Axe wants to tour. Ronny had shared the stage with us before, and we met a couple of times in the past, and I was very impressed with him as a talent and as an individual. He spent 3 days with us rehearsing and just hanging out and it was the right fit!

4. Now as you got Ronny in your band, how's the band feeling these days?

Steve: I feel very rejuvenated and relieved that the transition came about so quickly and smoothly. It was a true blessing. I look forward to the energy Ronny will bring.

5. Your 10th album Deep Red Shadows is ready and is going to be released in July 2010. Please tell us something about it. How long did you work on the album - did it have any guest musicians?

Steve: Deep Red Shadows is a combination of new hard edged songs and several of our older songs done with acoustic guitars and keyboards. It is light and dark, good and evil, love and war. We spent about 6 weeks recording, and we had the good fortune of having 47 Ways to Die mixed by Sylvia Massey who has worked with Tool, Prince, Johnny Cash, System of a Down, and many more. Also Ty Tabor of King's X mastered the record and played the solo on The Quenching of Human Life.

6. What is Deep Red Shadows all about?

Steve: DRS is a play on a song off of our album Psychoschizophrenia call Deep Blue Shadows. This album has a vampiric theme, so the blood theme runs thick.

7. What is the band doing at the moment and what are your plans for the future with Lillian Axe?

Steve: We are starting to play shows on July 2. We will be playing the U.S. through Aug. 16th. We will work this record hard and start writing for the next one!

8. Your thoughts on Heavy Metal and Hard Rock in the year 2010 are..... ?

Steve: Hard Rock and Metal are alive and well in 2010. The music business is sufferring greatly but it can never hold hard rock down.

9. You will tour to promote and present your latest album then.... so are we the german guys going to see you then too?

Steve: We can not wait to get back to Germany. We have great memories of playing there, and the German fans are amazing! Being of German heritage, it is wonderful to be in such a great country. Especially the festivals!!! Hopefully, we can get there this year.

10. I found out that you are also helping people with writing songs... you created a special program for that. Can you please tell me how it works? I really like the idea!

Steve: I have set up a site and a program to work with people in writing songs. If they have lyrics or melodies, I work with them to write, record, and produce their songs whether just one song or more.

11. Any last words you would like to add here, Steve?

Steve: Thanks so much for the interview, and we thank our fans around the world. We look forward to seeing you in the near future! Deep Red Shadows out on July 20!
