Interview: TREAT
Hello dear Treat,
thanks for taking your time and talking to me and all your fans from Germany. I hope you are all doing fine? So letz get it on....
1. Please introduce TREAT to our readers first of all.
Nalley: Treat started in 1983. Released their first album "Scratch & Bite" in 1985. We were always compared to the band Europe. We played sort of the same kind of music. Quit in 1992. In 2006 it was time for a reunion ! Now in 2010, we´re having a brand new album out "Coup De Grace".
2. We are very glad that you are back and rocking.. even if it was a real long time of absence. So what has changed within your band after all those years?
Nalley: Thanks ! Hopefully we´re wiser and whatever comes with age..... Back in the 80s I believe there were too much "thinking" about everything when it came to playing. Today I guess we´ve just pulled the plug to our brains and go straight for body, heart and soul ! (laughs) We enjoy doing what we´re doing...... We´re having a good time !!
3. So you already got your CD release party some days ago, so please tell us something about it. Where did it take place and what happened and how many people came out to see you?
Nalley: We played at a venue inside the amusementpark of Stockholm called "Gröna Lund". We invited some people from musicbusiness there like journalists, promoters, staff from record-companies etc...... and of course, alot of hardcore fans were there. I think it was about 800 people there watching..... It was crowded !!
4. Which musical projects are you guys involved with at the moment besides TREAT?
Nalley: If I speak for us all.... this is some of it: Anders is working as a professional songwriter and producer for Epicentre. Nalley is also playing with Therion and L.A.D. Jamie is playing with L.A.D. and some more bands and projects.... Patrick and Rob is also working with alot of other stuff in music-business.
5. So congratulations on your new album. So please tell us something about the writing process and about the production of it. Who writes the songs mainly? And what are the songs mostly all about ?
Nalley: Thank You very much !! Anders has always been, and is still the main songwriter of the band. But he also took some help from Fredrik Thomander, Patrick and for example Rudolf Schenker of Scorpions. The whole thing came out pretty naturally. We just rehearsed for a couple of days and jumped straight into it ! The lyrics is both about serious and less serious stuff....... I guess you have to add something like that when you´ve come to this age ! (laughs)
6. After a long time I can really imagine that you must be very hungry about the touring, aren`t you? So which countries are you looking forward to go to which you haven`t been before?
Nalley: We´re hungry like a flock of wolves ! We will start april 23d in Madrid, Spain, and then Italy, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. It´s gonna be Great ! We´re all looking forward to this!!
7. What`s up in the TREAT camp at the moment... got any more new things to come such like videos and radio appearances or tv appearances so far?
Nalley: We´re doing interviews all the time...... seems there isn´t an ending of it.... !! Everybody wants to speak to us ! When it comes to TV and Radio..... nothing is planned so far....
8. So you will have some concerts in Germany with the rocking THE POODLES! Are you exited to tour with them and visiting Germany? Are you great friends with them and what do you expect from the tour ?
Nalley: The guys of The Poodles we have known for ages, so it´s gonna be great ! We expect from ourselves to give the audience 110% of what we have ! - Watch Out !! (laughs)
9. Which bands are you guys listening when you are at home and have some little time on your own?
Nalley: We listen to all kinds of music, but when it comes to rock and hardrock, metal and so on I guess we could mention bands like Def Leppard, KISS, AC/DC, Van Halen, Deep Purole, Judas Priest etc etc. All of the old classic ones !
10. Any last words you like to add
Nalley: Yes ! We´re coming your way to show you all how the Big Boys do it !! (Big Laughs)
