Interview: DIE HARD TILL DEATH

***KURT*** AND ***STEVIL***
1. Please introduce your band Die Hard Till Death to us first.
Stevil: Paul Marciano-Drums,Kurt Arft-Bass,Kenni James-Vokills, & I play guitar. We are former members of Belladonna, Society 1, Kamikaze Butterfly, and Time Lapse Suicide. That is just to name a few of our previous bands.
2.Who did chose the band name?
Stevil: I was using the name for some doom metal songs I wrote. The name is at least 10 years old. We still have alot of doom elements, but also thrash too.
Kurt: Stevil brought the name with him, we all agreed it was a great name for us, we all have the attitude that no matter what, we will play music till we're 6 feet under! It's really our attitude and life motto!
3.You haven't released an album til now...but you are working on it. So far, how is the songwriting and the rest?
Stevil: It's a great evolution I think. The original demos are just me laying everything to a drum machine, but I make my own custom drum kits, so they sound slammin out of the gate. It's super cool to have all the guys in the band put themselves in it though! Each of them brings a certain magic the songs.
Kurt: It's been great! Stevil brought what he had to the table and the rest of us get to put our own little stamp on it. Even though they are songs Stevil wrote, the identity of the band is being created, which I think is really cool! We all bring something different to the songs, that's what makes us who we are and what we are becoming!
4. And how would you describe the sound and influences of your band to us?
Stevil: Our record is very diverse! One minute it represents thrash or doom. For brief moments it enters death metal and industrial genres. Another huge influence is Southern Metal and a bit of blues. I'm gonna say it loud and proud, Crowbar is my all time favorite band, but I doubt anyone will say anything sounds like them.
Kurt: Our sound is heavy! It makes the ground rumble! It's very hard for us to pinpoint what we sound like cause there are so many different elements and influences flying back at ya! I'm really proud of that, ultimately, it will be up to the fans to determine where we fit into the grand scheme of things. I like to say we sound like Die Hard Till Death (DHTD).
5. Which concerts did you play last year? Please name a few which was the coolest you played so far.
Stevil: I was working for Black Eye Media, our record label last year. It's funny because I tried telling myself I wasn't gonna play live anymore! Haha, that didn't last long. I wrote 250 plus tunes that were just sitting around doing nothing, so I decide to take the best songs and put out a real record with legitimate support and people all around me! Monstour Management and Black Eye Media cover the entire planet! I am completely satisfied with them! Originally, I was going to do this as a recording only, but as time went on , the support for the band kept growing. It had to be a live band. There was no denying it.
Kurt: We didn't do any shows last year. From about August 2010 till the present has been focused on writing, pre-production, and recording of the record. We're gonna make up for that starting in the Summer 2011 till end of the year!
6. Have you already got a record deal signed? Or still looking?
Stevil: Monstour Management/Black Eye Media covers every single base!
7. What are you doing after releasing your first album, what is planned?
Stevil: Shows. A select amount of shows in bigger cities.
Kurt: My favorite thing to do and that's take the music on the road and perform! The support has been crazy and overwhelming, not only in the US, but around the world! If there is enough support and demand for DHTD, we'll be coming to your town or country! We're also hoping to get on some tours with some of our friends and bands we look up to. That's why it's important to continue to spread the word about DHTD! Share all our links with your friends, www.diehardtilldeath.com www.facebook.com/diehardtilldeath(DHTD) www.myspace.com/diehardtilldeath www.twitter.com/DHTDtheband Call the radio stations and DEMAND they play DHTD!

8. Which other musical projects do you and the band members have?
Stevil: I don't have any other projects other than DHTD. My big thing is I love doing guest appearances on other peoples songs and collaborating on single songs with people. I am talking to Klank about doing a song with him for example. I'm not a huge Industrial fan, but I played for Society 1, so it connects me to it in ways. I played a slol on "Holy Shit" by SinDaddy. He is known for working with Paul Raven of Ministry. Everyone is connected so I like to connect on a musical level with my friends. Most of my career I've been one of two things. A hired gun or a guest appearance on someones song who was relevant. I have always written music, so it's time to focus on that.
Kurt: DHTD is my only thing going on musically right now, it consumes alot of my time, but I'm available for whatever. Touring, Studio, Fill In stints
for bands. If somebody needs a professional bass player, I'm your man! I love playing music, that's what I do!
9. What are your fave metal bands?
Stevil: This could be a novel! Haha. Crowbar for sure, COC, Type O Negative, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Testament, Anthrax, Cathedral, Monster Magnet, Machine Head. That will keep ya busy!!
Kurt: Stevil and I have alot of the same tastes and influences. Machine Head, Testament, Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, Monster Magnet,
Sevendust, Pantera, COC, Down..... I could go on for days!!
10. Last but not least, please leave a message for all your friends and fans!
Stevil: My friends know this is a long time coming. I mean it when I say that I so deeply appreciate all the world support we have been getting! Honestly, I can't wait to come to Europe and play in Germany!!
Kurt: I just wanna say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the support and love we are being shown! I can't wait for you guys to get the record and I really can't wait to get on the road and tear it up with all my friends and fans! Hang on, the DHTD Metal Train is full speed ahead and coming at ya!! Keep it Metal! \m/\m/
