Interview: Doogie White (Demons Eye)
welcome to the interviews with Rocket Queen. We are very happy that we have the chance to talk to you.
1. Please give a little introduction about your person first.
Doogie: I am a child of the 60s born and bred in Motherwell Scotland. I am a coachbuilder to trade and also worked for the social work and education departments before moving to London.
2. We know that you have played along with many amazing bands. Could you please give as a short summary of them.
Doogie: Well there have been many so I will give you the ones that were important to me. LA PAZ was my first serious band. We still get together to play shows for charity check out http://www.lapazrocks.com/la-paz-charity.asp
MIDNIGHT BLUE was my introduction to London life
RAINBOW nuff said
CORNERSTONE 5 great albums with a great bunch of guys
YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, great for seeing the world.
TANK good guys and WAR MACHINE is one of the best albums I have ever done. http://tankofficial.com/
3. Well so in the mid 90`s you were the singer for the legendary Rainbow.
You toured the world for 3 years. What are your reminisce on this large
world tour?
Doogie: RAINBOW was great fun and the music was the music I loved and still love. Its a long time ago and you can read stories here http://www.doogiewhite.com/default.html
4. Is there any secret on Rainbow you would like to share with us?
Doogie: So long ago I cant remember.
5. On 20. July 2010 you were in Germany at the Zeche in Bochum and performed with lots of other musicians the tribute to Mr. Ronnie James Dio (god bless him). Sadly I wasn`t there but I saw a video of it where you sung Long live Rock N Roll. I had tears in my eyes. So what can you say about this evening? I know that this was a very hard concert for all of you. I am sure you met Ronnie a few times so what are your memories about Ronnie?
Doogie: Ronnie was a very kind and generous man even to cheeky upstarts like me. He gave wise council and told wonderful tales so when Axel asked me if I would come over and sing a couple of songs I said yes. Bare in mind that I had 10 offers to do tribute albums to Ronnie and several benefit concert requests. All of which I turned down. But Axel is cool and I knew that we could do justice and pay our respects.
6. What are you doing at the moment, Doogie? For example I know that you are also playing together with Ross McEwan. Please give us a reminisce on your current projects.
Doogie: I did 2 shows with Ross and sang one song on his album.
We are booking TANK shows for later in the year which will be great as they are such a good band and the new album is awesome. I also recorded with DEMONS EYE http://www.demonseye.com/tsw/index_e.php We have some shows in April which I am looking forward to.
7. By the way what is new with the band EMPIRE. I really love the band. And
I wonderes whats new? I am friends with Rolf but forgot to ask him, sorry.
Doogie: I loved working with Rolf and the EMPIRE album Chasing Shadows is right up there with my favourites. Sadly we never got to play even one show and never had the chance to do another. Thats the nature of the industry at the moment.
8. I see that you are doing lots of concerts with various musicians and bands.Which
are your current concerts you are playing and when will we see you again in Germany?
Doogie: Please see my previous answer.
9. Another question is what was the best thing happenend in your musical carreer
so far?
Doogie: Getting my voice back in 2001 after surgery for a ruptured vocal cord. It was a time of worry but I had the best care and 10 years on I am still sounding okay.
10. Which bands and musicians do you listen to in your free time? Or are you listening
to music all the time no matter what you do?
Doogie: I rarely listen to music. If I do its film music or piano music. I have a few select artists on my ipod for when I am at the gym or walking the dog but thats all really. I listen to talk radio unless I am working.
11. Last but not least, please leave a few lines for all your fans out there!
Doogie: There lies within us all a dark soul that we keep hidden from the world for fear that if it was discovered our end would surely come more quickly than we may wish.
Peace, Love and Guitars DTW

Susi: I wish you all the best for 2011. And I thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions. Have a nice day, take care and keep up the good work, SUSI
